Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies One Step Order uses, why we use them and how you can control them.
Last updated: August 1, 2026This Cookie Policy applies to onesteporder.com and should be read with our Privacy Policy. The OSO plugin operates inside each merchant’s WordPress and WooCommerce installation; cookies placed by a merchant’s store are controlled by that merchant and are not covered by this policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on a browser or device when you visit a website. They can help a website operate, remember choices, maintain sessions, prevent fraud and provide information about how the website is used.
Similar technologies may include local storage, pixels, tags, software development kits and server-side identifiers. In this policy, “cookies” refers to cookies and comparable technologies unless stated otherwise.
2. Who controls cookies on OSO stores?
One Step Order controls cookies used on its own website and account or purchase experiences to the extent described here. A WooCommerce merchant that installs OSO controls its own website, checkout, analytics, advertising and customer communications.
OSO does not remotely place One Step Order advertising cookies on the merchant’s customers as part of the plugin’s normal operation. Merchants must describe and manage the cookies created by their WordPress site, WooCommerce, payment gateways and integrations in their own cookie and privacy notices.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
Necessary cookies support functions such as website security, network management, account authentication, checkout, payment processing, licence delivery, fraud prevention and user-requested preferences. The website may not function correctly without them.
Because these cookies are required to provide a service you request, they generally cannot be disabled through a consent banner. You can block them in your browser, but account, checkout or security features may stop working.
4. Analytics cookies
We may use Google Analytics to understand website traffic, pages visited, approximate location, device and browser characteristics, referral sources and interactions with the site. We use this information to evaluate performance and improve OSO.
Where required by law, analytics cookies will remain disabled until you provide consent. We may configure analytics to reduce data collection, limit retention or use consent signals. Google processes information under its own terms and privacy documentation.
Google Search Console may provide aggregated search-performance information to us but does not ordinarily require One Step Order to place a Search Console cookie on a visitor’s browser.
5. Advertising and conversion technologies
One Step Order does not currently intend to activate advertising cookies on this website. Meta Pixel, Facebook Conversions API, TikTok Pixel and TikTok Events API may be introduced later to measure campaigns or conversions.
Before activating a non-essential advertising technology, we will update this policy and our consent controls. Where required, the technology will remain disabled until you make an affirmative choice. You will be able to refuse or withdraw consent without losing access to essential website functions.
6. Third-party services
Necessary or optional cookies may be connected with providers that support payments, subscriptions, licences, hosting, security, content delivery, analytics, support or live chat. These may include a licensing and commerce provider such as Freemius or an equivalent service, Google Analytics, Cloudflare and future support tools.
When you interact with a third-party checkout, account portal, embedded service or external link, that provider may place cookies under its own policy. One Step Order does not control every cookie placed directly by an independent third party.
7. Your cookie choices
Where consent is required, our cookie banner or preference tool will allow you to accept or reject non-essential categories. Refusing optional cookies will not prevent necessary cookies from operating.
You may change or withdraw your choice through the cookie settings link when available. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before your preference changed.
8. Browser controls
Most browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies and to control whether websites may store them. Instructions are normally available in the browser’s privacy or security settings.
Deleting cookies may remove saved preferences and sign you out. Blocking all cookies can prevent checkout, account, licence or security functionality from working as intended.
9. Cookie duration
Session cookies expire when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until deleted. Duration depends on the cookie’s purpose and the provider that operates it.
We aim to configure non-essential cookies with proportionate retention periods. Analytics information is generally retained for up to fourteen months unless a shorter period is configured or a longer period is legally justified.
10. Browser privacy signals
Some browsers or extensions transmit Global Privacy Control, Do Not Track or similar signals. Legal requirements and technical standards for these signals continue to develop. Where a recognized signal creates a legal obligation, we will process it as required. You should also use our consent controls to communicate your choices where available.
11. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this policy when cookies, providers, website features or legal requirements change. The revised version will be published here with an updated date. Material changes may also be presented through our consent interface.
